Amazon Blogs: Armchair Commentary Daily Digest

Check out these Updates from Armchair Commentary for October 7, 2010.

My Soul to Take, which opens theatrically on October 8, is the first feature film written and directed by horror legend Wes Craven since 1994's New Nightmare. The 3D picture, about seven teens born on the night a serial killer died and who now face his vengeful, reincarnated spirit, sounds like classic Craven material, and should fit perfectly into his canon of white-knuckle terror.

For those who haven't dug deep into Craven's c.v., we've compiled a lucky list of his 13 best films (in our humble opinion, of course); feel free to challenge, question or post your own faves and raves.

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

2. The Hills Have Eyes (1977)

3. The Last House on the Left(1972)

4. Scream(1996)

5. Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)

6. Red Eye (2005)

7. The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988)

8. The People Under the Stairs (1991)

9. Scream 2 (1997)

10. Stranger in Our House/Summer of Fear(1978)

11. Chiller (1985)

12. Invitation to Hell (1984)

13. Deadly Blessing (1981)
