Today's Soupe du Jour: Meringue Rings

Charles And Marie

Meringue Rings

Today's Soupe is pretty much the tastiest looking Soupe we had in a long time. The important word to look out for in the previous sentence is 'looking', because the Soupe might look like some tasty little meringue rings, they are simply not made out of egg whites and sugar, but industrial grade silicone, the kind of stuff that's in your bathroom…

But now that we have the disclaimer out of the way, lets look at this in detail, shall we? Designed to look just like a little meringue, these rings are absolutely uber-delish. The silicone that's used by German designer Tanja Hartmann makes those rings look so real that you immediately want to start sucking on them. Luckily they are made out of silicone and not sugar and egg whites, because that makes them a lot more durable then the real thing and trust us, sucking on your finger doesn't really go down all that well in public.

In any case, the ring comes in 3 sizes, and whilst the silicone is stretchy, don't opt for the smaller size, it will be so tight that it's uncomfortable!

Now order the ring and start googling for the meringue recipe, we can tell you're already anxious for a soft and fluffy sugar thingy…

Amazon Blogs: Armchair Commentary Daily Digest

Check out these Updates from Armchair Commentary for August 30, 2009.

August 30, 2009

Whiteout, opening September 11, stars Kate Beckinsale and was originally filmed back in 2007. This trailer has a lot of action with an X-Files vibe, but I understand the original graphic novel by Greg Rucka was more of a mystery. (Warning: gratuitous shower scene.)

Ninja Assassin opens November 25.  It's directed by James McTeigue and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers, supposedly inspired by the ninja scenes in the Wachowskis' Speed Racer (take that however you want).  It stars Korean pop star Rain, and Babylon 5's J. Michael Straczynski is among the writers.

The Book of Eli is scheduled to open January 15, 2010, with Denzel Washington in the title role.  The Hughes Bros. (Albert and Allen Hughes of Menace II Society and From Hell) direct this post-apocalyptic actioner that reminds me of both Mad Max and I Am Legend. --David
