I recently came across the first trailer released for Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere which she produced, wrote and directed. I am intrigued as it's been a while since her best-known film 2003's Lost in Translation came out (hard to believe it has been that long). From the trailer it appears that Sofia's new film definitely looks to have that Sofia-Lost-In-Translation-vibe and requisite cool soundtrack as well. Considering the last film she released was 2006's Marie Antoinette, I think movie-goers are long overdue for some Sofia magic, and this could just be it.

And the other reason it caught my attention was because the lead character is played by Stephen Dorff. Yes, that's right. I can't remember the last time he had such a visible role. (Britney Spears's 2004 Everytime video comes to mind for me). Clearly this could be a comeback role for him. In Somewhere, Stephen plays a bad-boy-partying Hollywood actor who re-examines his life after his 11-year-old daughter surprises him with a visit. The daughter is played by Elle Fanning (Yes, Dakota's little sister).

It's not going to be released until Dec., but will likely debut at the Venice Film Fest in Sept. So in the meantime, check out the trailer below. Personally, I am liking it. But what do you think? --Lisanne
