FESS PARKER DIES: Fess Parker, star of
Daniel Boone and who also played Davy Crockett in a number of TV episodes for Disney, has died at the age of 85. His credits also include
Old Yeller and the TV version of
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
JESSE JAMES APOLOGIZES TO SANDRA BULLOCK: Amid rumors of infidelity, Bullock's husband has released a statement calling the majority of allegations "untrue and unfounded" but says, "It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way." James had accompanied his wife of four years on the awards circuit all season, right up through her Best Actress win at this year's Academy Awards.
MOVIE CASTING NEWS: Tim Burton, who just launched Alice in Wonderland, has signed on to direct a 3D stop-motion animated version of The Addams Family ... Abbie Cornish (Bright Star) will star as Wallis Simpson in W.E., a period drama about the marriage of King Edward VIII to an American socialite, to be directed by Madonna ... Jayma Mays (Glee) will star with Neil Patrick Harris as the human leads in The Smurfs, a live-action/animated hybrid in production. In case you were wondering, Hank Azaria will voice Gargamel.
TV NEWS: Conan O'Brien is in early talks with Fox for a talk show... Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical) will join Hellcats, a dramedy produced by Smallville's Tom Welling.
