The New York Times has an update on the developing Jay Leno-Conan O'Brien situation: "Two senior NBC executives who have talked to NBC’s top management about the moves said that under the plan being discussed Mr. Leno would definitely shift back to 11:35 but in a half-hour format, while Mr. O’Brien would slide back his start time by a half hour and then produce an hour-long show." Jimmy Fallon would then start at 1:05. We'll see if that's the final decision, whether Conan will still have the Tonight Show name, and all the other details as they become official.  --David

According to TMZ.com , Jay Leno is returning to his 11:30 p.m. weeknight slot at the expense of Conan O'Brien.  We'll see if this turns out to be true, but on the New York Times media blog , NBC executives "did not deny" the report.  This would happen after the Olympics telecast... read more
